Wonderful find...Jo Richards

wonderful finding the large ammonites along peacehaven each set in the old Nore Beds offshore at low tide, ive taken some fab photos and hope to upload them here for you to see, after researching our beautiful white cliffs found out the Nore beds date back approx 83 million years... now thats something sure to be proud about... so im completing my final major project of my 2nd yr art foundation taking my inspiration from the rock formation and the giant ammonite fossils.

Large Ammonites

Name: Glyn Kendall

Title: Large Ammonites

Date: October 2007 to February 2008

Report:
As suggested on the site I walked Westward from the steps at Friar's Bay. Three trips, found plenty of large Ammonites. I have uploaded pictures of eight in various condition.

Joe Shimmin and Flavia Faedo, 2005

I'd heard that huge ammonites could be viewed at Peacehaven and if lucky, collected from the non-protected area. Unfortunately I found neither protected or unprotected huge ammonites and my only find was a sea urchin.
Not the best fossil hunting trip ever for me, but the sun was shining and the drive from Canterbury was a pretty one.
